Certification Path After Passing Huawei H12-211 Exam

Successful passers of H12-211 exam get the HCIA-Routing & Switching certificate from the Huawei ICT Infrastructure certification program. This will be given through e-Cert from Huawei User Center. And if one wants to further improve routing and switching skills, they can continue with HCIP-Routing & Switching (professional-level). This one targets senior engineers willing to solidify their competence in the more advanced aspects of working with both small-sized and medium-sized networks, a better understanding of complex network technologies and operations.

If you want to be the best of the best, there's the HCIE-Routing & Switching certificate that relates to the expert level. By accomplishing this path, you complete the three-tier curriculum of the routing and switching domain and verify the ability to manage networks of all sizes including the large ones.

Exam Topics

For an in-depth overview of the exam, here are the relevant sections that you need to pay attention to during the preparation process. The topics tested are divided into 8 areas with a corresponding percentage of the overall syllabus. Still, the vendor states that the candidate should be ready to face additional topics related to routing and switching that are not involved in the official blueprint.

• Routing Technologies (21%) ― routing technologies are one of the most important parts of the test coverage. Take your time to comprehend different routing principles, both static and dynamic. OSPF and VRP must also be mastered.
• MPLS and Segment Routing (3%) ― to complete the preparation process, one should acquire knowledge of both MPLS and segment routing basic principles.
• Network Security (5%) ― another critical aspect of the exam is network security. Applicants should make sure they exert effort in learning different traffic filtering technologies and their implementation in the networks of the enterprise. User management is also a decisive factor, along with IPsec VPN technologies.
• WAN Technologies (5%) ― Wide Area Networks (WAN) are pressing subjects that need your mastery. When studying for H12-211, focus on its main concepts, serial technologies, encapsulation configuration, and PPPoE implementation.
• LAN Technologies (24%) ― next in line are LAN technologies, including switching operations and link aggregation. Moreover, this section requires candidates to show their understanding of VLAN, STP, and RSTP to prove they can easily work with their application and configuration.
• Network Management (5%) ― the questions under this domain check the candidate's deep familiarity with key protocols and technologies of network management.
• IPv6 Networks (25%) ― this section covers all the essential IPv6 principles, along with its fundamental technologies and routing concepts. It also requires one to have a solid command of app services used for IPv6 networks.
• IP network principles (12%) ― first on the list is the discussion of Ethernet, data forwarding methods that are IP based, TCP/IP protocols, and configuration as well as navigation performed by using VRP commands. For TCP/IP, you must get the drift of different support apps like Telnet, FTP, Ping, and such. There will also be an elaboration of IPv4, particularly its vital principles, subnetting, and address design.
